Have you ever thought about your dream smartphone? What would it have inside? What would you sacrifice and why? Every time a flagship comes out reviewers always mention what could have been done better. As a business student tech enthusiast I find the whole line of smartphones that companies offer interesting and often ask myself why they make certain decisions. A year ago I wrote a huge paper about a fictional company I made up called Core Mobility and yes, there is a company with that name already but I liked it and it was just a school paper so it didn't matter. The fun part was getting to talk about a potential business model. I stole ideas from various manufacturers that I really liked and thought were really great selling points. Motorola, who at the time had just released the Moto X (2013), was a big inspiration because I really really liked that phone. Some day I'll write a review about it because it truly is one of the best phones ever made. It was also when the OnePlus One has first graced the market with its low price and high specs. Then of course manufacturers like Samsung who confuse the hell out of anybody who tries to figure out which device is meant for which people so I made it a goal to have distinguishable product lines marketing each one to different people. So without further ado I will give a rundown of what I would do if I were a smartphone manufacturer.
Company: Animax Mobility
Device Lines:
Catalyst Series: This series of devices will be the flagship line of devices featuring 3 distinct offerings. The Pro will feature the largest screen, much like the Note line of Samsung devices. The Precision will be the flagship device positioned much like the iPhone 6 Plus. That means these phones will be seen as excessive or for people who demand the very best from a smartphone. Since the specs are overkill they will command a higher price while not scaring people away from the Core series. For instance, the reason the iPhone 5C was such a failure was because it was inferior to the 5S. In the mind of the customer they were buying the 'meh' iPhone even though it was a great device still. It is important that these devices are seen as luxurious because it means that people who do buy the Core phones don't feel like they are getting the short end of the stick.

Catalyst Precision - $649.99

Core Series: Bang for your buck, these devices will have slightly outdated hardware but optimized to offer a well refined experience while maintaining a low price. Selling point with these is there low price off-contract and a smooth experience. A common problem in flagship devices is that the newest hardware isn't always optimized yet. The OnePlus One is the best example, even with a Snapdragon 801 chip it is outdoing the 805 in battery and sometimes performance. The process of making the chip has gotten better and quality has gone up.
Core Precision - $399.99
Screen 5" 1080p AMOLED Display
